Hong Kong striker Udebuluzor closing in on Estonia transfer amid rival Spanish interest
Young centre-forward keen to leave German club VfR Mannheim, but move to China League One collapsed following controversial remarks

Estonian club JK Tallinna Kalev are in pole position to sign Michael Udebuluzor after the Hong Kong striker decided to continue his career in Europe.
A move for Udebuluzor to China League One club Suzhou Dongwu collapsed last month following remarks he made after Hong Kong’s East Asian Football Championship defeat by China.
Udebuluzor, who had playfully told Hong Kong supporters, “Look at the Chinese fans; next time we’ll beat these b******s”, subsequently revealed to the Post he was unlikely to pursue another mainland transfer because he had to watch out for his safety.
“I can’t just go to a country where people can do anything they want to me,” he said.
The 21-year-old was eager to quit VfR Mannheim, where he spent last season after joining from fellow Germans FC Ingolstadt 04. “I’ve had problems with the coach and it’s best for me to leave,” Udebuluzor said during the East Asian tournament in South Korea.
The Post has learned that Estonian top-flight club Kalev, whose president is the former Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan, have a concrete interest in Udebuluzor.
