Ex-Man United bosses Solskjaer, Mourinho sacked hours apart, bookmakers say Amorim next
The Portuguese already 20-1 to return to Old Trafford, with compatriot Amorim listed at 13-5 to quit after Saturday’s game against Burnley

Former Manchester United managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho were sacked just hours apart on Friday, and bookmakers believe the man currently sitting in the Old Trafford hot seat could soon follow them.
Solskjaer, who replaced the Portuguese boss at Old Trafford in December 2018, was shown the door at Besiktas following a disappointing 1-0 aggregate defeat to Swiss side Lausanne in the Uefa Conference League play-off.
And later on Friday, Fenerbahce announced Mourinho would be leaving his role a little more than 12 months after arriving following a second consecutive failure to reach the league phase of the Champions League.
Fenerbahce were beaten 1-0 on aggregate by Benfica and will compete in the Europa League this season.
“We have parted ways with Jose Mourinho, who served as head coach of our professional A team since the 2024-2025 season. We thank him for his efforts for our team and wish him success in his future career,” the Turkish club said in a statement.

The pair are back on the market just two days after United suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in their history, as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by fourth-tier Grimsby.
