The outbreak of the coronavirus has forced organisers of the US$150,000 EFG Hong Kong Ladies Open to move the tournament to May at the Hong Kong Golf Club.

Originally scheduled from February 28 to March 1, organisers have announced that the sixth edition of the annual showpiece event will be played instead from May 8-10.

The decision to postpone the tournament, to be played at the Old Course, was made by the Hong Kong Golf Club in consultation with the event’s stakeholders.

According to a press release, the organisers wanted to extend their thanks to all parties involved, as well as the broader Hong Kong golf community, for their understanding and “look forward to welcoming players, fans and officials to the Club for the tournament”.
