LIV Golf chiefs hope Hong Kong event joins Sevens, Art Basel as a city mainstay
Tournament aims to embed itself as another of Hong Kong’s ‘must-see, must-do’ occasions, according to LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil

LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil has said he hopes Hong Kong remains “on the calendar forever” after the league announced it had signed a multi-year deal with the city.
The new agreement, which starts in 2026 and runs for an initial two years, with sources saying there was an option for two more, could keep the tournament at Hong Kong Golf Club until 2029.
Speaking to the Post ahead of Wednesday’s announcement, O’Neil said he was “thrilled” that LIV was returning to “one of the elite cities of the world”.
Next year’s event, which in a league first has HSBC as a presenting partner, will be the third stop of the season and take place from March 3 to 6, the week before LIV Golf Singapore.
“It’s good to be back,” O’Neil said. “It was one of the first events I attended as CEO and the golf course is spectacular.

“We’ve seen the two kind of must-see, must-do events in the Hong Kong calendar and we’d like to be the third. I hope it’s a place on the calendar for as long as LIV continues to do what we do.”
