Belachew, Eshete claim Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon crowns - as it happened
Melaku Belachew wins men’s race for second time, while Bahrain’s Shitaye Eshete goes close to breaking women’s mark set in 2019

Melaku Belachew claimed his second men’s title, Shitaye Eshete won the women’s race and came close to the course record, and Hong Kong triathlete Wong Tsz-to ensured there was home gold on Sunday.
On a day when conditions were not conducive to fast times, some 74,000 runners still took to the streets for the city’s biggest race day of the year.
And while there were very few KPop Demon Hunters in evidence, costumes added some sparkle to proceedings.
It was Standard Chartered Marathon day in Hong Kong, and as usual, it proved to be a busy morning across the city.
