Professional Fighters League light heavyweight Jordan Young has died at the age of 27.
The former Bellator star’s (12-2) gym, American Top Team (ATT), paid tribute to him in an Instagram post on Sunday morning. The cause of death has yet to be revealed.
“It’s with a heavy heart, that we have learned about the passing of our teammate Jordan Young,” read a post on the official Instagram account of ATT.
“Our team is deeply saddened by this news, as Jordan has been with our team since the start of his career. A solid teammate and always a professional in our gym. He will be deeply missed by us.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jordan‘s family. R.I.P. to this warrior. Gone too soon.”
Young went 1-1 in the PFL, debuting with a unanimous decision loss against Tom Lawlor in June. In his last outing, he secured a stunning comeback KO win against UFC veteran Omari Akhmedov (21-7-1) on October’s 2021 PFL World Championship card.
“RIP. Terrible news to hear,” former UFC star Lawlor wrote on Instagram.

Young had been on a seven-fight win streak in Bellator before a unanimous decision defeat by Julius Anglickas in July 2019.
The PFL gave its condolences to Young’s friends and family in a social media post on Sunday morning.

Several of Young’s teammates also paid tribute to Young in replies to American Top Team’s post.
“I cannot believe it. RIP my friend,” wrote UFC light heavyweight Thiago Santos, of Brazil.
ONE Championship flyweight champ Adriano Moraes, UFC featherweight champ Amanda Nunes, and Rizin bantamweight champ Kyoji Horiguchi also gave their condolences, as did UFC light heavyweight Aleksandar Rakic, Bare Knuckle FC star Paige VanZant and her husband Austin Vanderford, the Bellator middleweight, as well as ATT owner Dan Lambert.
Young’s boxing coach Derik Santos also wrote a lengthy tribute to the American on his Instagram account.

“Just a few weeks ago we talked about how excited he was for 2022, and that as soon as he took care of some [injuries] he wanted to schedule getting right back to work with me,” Santos said.
“When he spoke to me I had such a good feeling for him, he was on such an upswing and positive vibe after an injury-plagued career.
“ I was really looking forward to seeing him have continued success after his last big win.”
