Aung La N Sang has sent a message to his Burmese fans after coming up short against Vitaly Bigdash.
“The Burmese Python”, who was born in Myanmar but now lives in South Florida, met Russia’s Bigdash on the main card of the ONE: Full Circle event on Friday night in Singapore.
It was the third time the two middleweights met, after picking up a decision win apiece in a pair of title fights in 2017.
N Sang gave a valiant effort in the third round, but was taken down multiple times and controlled for significant periods of the bout, ultimately losing a unanimous decision as a result.

“To my Myanmar fans, I’m sorry I let you down tonight,” the 36-year-old wrote in a statement posted to his official Facebook page after the loss.
“I did my best to prepare for the fight and was ready but things just didn’t go my way. I promise I will get better. [I’m] always praying for Myanmar and keeping you in my heart.”

N Sang shared a second post-fight statement on his official Instagram page.
“Didn’t get the win tonight but just another day at the office,” he wrote. “Thank you to all my teammates and trainer who helped me get ready.
“Thank you for all the supporters for the love. I’m healthy and I’m well. Just got to keep going and keep fighting.”

After losing to the 37-year-old Bigdash, N Sang (27-13) is 3-1 in his last four fights. In his next most recent fight, he scored a first-round knockout win over Brazil’s Leandro Ataides.
That victory was preceded by a pair of title losses to Reinier de Ridder of the Netherlands – a first-round submission at middleweight and a decision at light heavyweight.

While it was a tough night at the office for the Burmese superstar N Sang, Bigdash might well have earned a middleweight title shot.
The Russian called for that opportunity in his post-fight interview with commentator Mitch Chilson. He sent an ominous threat to the reigning champ De Ridder, who defended his title with a submission defeat of Kiamrian Abbasov in the ONE: Full Circle main event.
“De Ridder, you’re next,” he said. “I’m breaking your face. I’m breaking your nose.”

Bigdash also shared his thoughts on the conclusion of his three-fight rivalry with N Sang.
“The trilogy has come to an end today,” he said. “I believe I won all three fights, so 3-0, but Aung La is an amazing fighter and I respect him very much.”
Bigdash (12-2) is now on a three-fight win-streak, having also submitted China’s Fan Rong back in December and Japan’s Yuki Niimura back in 2018.
