Introduction

Every fighter on the ONE Championship Fight Night 7 bill passed their pre-fight weight and hydration checks on Thursday, including headliner John Lineker, who had plenty of doubters as he stepped onto the scale.

Lineker was the second fighter to the testing stage, and passed both his hydration and weight checks on the first try. It was a major statement from the Brazilian, who was stripped of the ONE bantamweight MMA title after he missed weight for a fight with Fabricio Andrade last October.

Andrade, who will meet Lineker in the main event for the Saturday card in Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium, also passed his pre-fight tests – though he was the second last fighter to appear.

The pair’s first fight, in which only Andrade was eligible to win the title, ended as a no contest after Lineker absorbed an accidental low-blow that shattered his protective cup.

The ONE Fight Night 7 co-main event is also a go. It will see Thai superstar Tawanchai PK. Saenchai attempt to defend his title against a man he has deemed his toughest challenger to date, Russian-born Turk Jamal Yusupov. Both fighters made weight on their first attempts.

Earlier on the card, former two-division MMA champ Martin Nguyen will look to get back to winning ways against Brazil’s Leonardo Casotti – his third opponent for the card after Shamil Gasanov and Razhab Shaydullaev were both ruled unable to fight.

The card will also feature an appearance from rising submission grappling star Danielle Kelly. The American BJJ black belt will meet Japanese MMA contender Ayaka Miura.

All of the above passed their pre-fight tests on their first attempts.
