ONE Championship’s Angela Lee will take part in a suicide prevention charity walk on Oahu in her native Hawaii, in association with her newly launched mental health non-profit organisation.

The women’s atomweight MMA champion launched the Fightstory charity last month, to “empower fighters of all walks of life”.

Fightstory will take part as a team on September 9’s Oahu island walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s nationwide “Out of the Darkness” programme.

“Hi everyone, September is suicide awareness and prevention month,” Lee 27, wrote in an Instagram post.

“If you are on Oahu and would like to participate, we’d love to have you on our team for this important cause. See you guys there.”

“These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health,” she added.
