You can watch the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics for just US$28, here’s how to get a ticket
Organisers say at least 1 million tickets at that price will be available for all sports with seats ‘not just in the corner’ of some venues

Fans wanting to watch the Los Angeles Olympics in person will be able to register for a random ticket draw next month, with 2028 Games organisers promising at least 1 million seats priced at just US$28 (HK$217).
The registration period begins on January 14 and will give fans a chance to secure a time slot to buy tickets in April, with those who are not selected automatically registered for subsequent ticket drops.
Allison Katz-Mayfield, a senior vice-president of LA28, said the cheap seats would be available for every sport, and that was “not just lip service to a couple tickets in the corner of some venue, but a meaningful number of tickets”.
“We’re looking at least a million tickets at US$28 and we’ve got about a third of our tickets under US$100,” she said.
LA28’s announcement comes amid backlash to high ticket prices for next year’s Fifa World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Registration will be open until March 18 and there is no advantage to registering early. No purchase or payment is required to sign up for the draw.
