Table tennis star Doo Hoi‑kem has continued her recent fine form by leading the charge as Hong Kong’s players advanced to the last 16 of the 35th ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup in Haikou at the end of their group-stage matches on Friday.
Doo, who won the mixed doubles title with Wong Chun-ting in Qatar and reached the final of the women’s doubles a week later in Oman, beat Uzbekistan’s Kamalova Arujan 3-0 and Chinese Taipei’s Chien Tung‑chuan 3-1 to finish second in her group.
She had earlier lost to Chinese world No 3 Chen Xingtong, who won the group.

Su, 16, won 12-10, 8-11, 12-10, 11-9 to reach the round of 16 behind China’s Kuai Man, to whom Su had lost 11-8, 11-5, 11-4 on the opening day.

On the men’s side, an in-form Wong Chun‑ting beat Chinese Taipei’s Liao Cheng‑ting 11-5, 6-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-8 on Friday night to book his last-16 spot.
