CrossFit star Tia-Clair Toomey will not compete in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, despite qualifying for the bobsleigh event, after the Australian selection committee picked a driver with a higher ranking.

Toomey announced “we did it” on Instagram last week after qualifying with teammate Ashleigh Warner. However, the selection was not official.

The Australian Olympic Team have since posted on Instagram: “Meet our #Beijing2022 Bobsleigh team – Bree Walker and Kiara Reddingius.”

Australia qualified for two bobsleigh events.

“The pair will make their Olympic debut in the two-woman event and Walker will contest the Monobob in its Olympic debut,” the Instagram post said.
