Northern Ireland national team manager Michael O’Neill was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving outside Edinburgh on Sunday, according to a BBC report.
The 48-year-old was detained by police early on Sunday morning after failing a breathalyser test.
The Irish Football Association (IFA) released a statement saying it was “aware of an alleged drink-driving incident” before adding that it was a “police matter”.

O’Neill has masterminded Northern Ireland’s run to the brink of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup play-offs. They have won their last five World Cup qualifying matches without conceding a single goal.
Qualification would see the nation make its first appearance at the World Cup since 1986.

Under his stewardship, Northern Ireland have risen to 23 in the official Fifa rankings, their highest position.
O’Neill is due to appear in court on October 10, five days before a crucial qualifying match against group-topping Germany.
