Taiwan’s ‘Cat Heaven’ village becomes popular tourist attraction
The village of Houtong, about an hour’s drive from Taiwan’s capital Taipei, has become known as the island’s “cat heaven”, with more than 200 cats living there. It has become a popular tourist attraction, with nearly 1 million visitors annually. Once a coal mine, the village has reinvented itself through its cat culture.
