Crazy Rich Asians film offers a glimpse into the lives of Asia’s ultra-wealthy

The film Crazy Rich Asians is adapted from the novel of the same name, which tells the story of an Asian-American woman who accompanies her boyfriend to Singapore for a wedding, only to find out that his family is filthy rich. Author Kevin Kwan has written three books in the “Crazy Rich” series – and has left the door open for a fourth instalment. The film is released in the US on August 15 and in Hong Kong on August 23.
