Why Cambodia’s election is a cause for concern

With the forced dissolution of the main opposition party in November 2017, the incumbent Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen is widely expected to remain in power after the July 29 national election. He has been at the helm for more than 30 years. Exiled opposition leaders launched a campaign to boycott the polls.
