‘I can't save my family’, Afghan evacuee tearfully describes flight from Taliban-controlled Kabul

Evacuees from Afghanistan landed at the Frankfurt airport on August 18, 2021, on one of the many flights hastily arranged to destinations around the world after the Taliban's rapid takeover of Kabul. As they arrived on German soil, evacuees recounted how they struggled through the chaos at the Afghan capital’s airport to board planes in a desperate attempt to save themselves and their families.
