Chopper rescue for man trapped in a torrent as death toll from Pakistan floods crosses 1,000

Rescuers aboard a Pakistani army helicopter winched a man to safety from raging waters in northern Pakistan on August 28, 2022, as the death toll from devastating floods across Pakistan reached 1,033. Nearly 33 million people in Pakistan are reeling from floods after an unusually heavy monsoon since mid-June.
