Caged for 20 years, 5 bears from Vietnam’s illegal bile extraction farm are free

Five moon bears were rescued from an illegal bile-extraction farm on February 22, 2023. Bear bile continues to be used in traditional medicine, even though Vietnam has outlawed the extraction process, with some farms still operating illegally on the black market.
