Power plant explosion in India kills at least 14, injures 20

The explosion left many victims with severe burns being treated at a hospital in neighbouring Raigarh district.

A blast at a power plant in India’s eastern state of Chhattisgarh has killed at least 14 people and injured several others, according to officials. The April 14, 2026, explosion was reportedly related to a boiler tube overheating at the plant in Sakti district. Many of the victims suffered severe burns and were taken to hospital for treatment.
