Huawei export ban ‘won’t make US safer’

In the midst of an ongoing trade war, the US put Huawei on an entity list in May, 2019 that effectively banned the Chinese telecoms giant from buying American-made technology. Huawei has faced cybersecurity allegations from the US and its allies that its infrastructure equipment may enable surveillance by the Chinese government. Huawei Technologies’ Chief Security Officer addressed these concerns during an interview with the South China Morning Post.
