Railway construction site collapses in Shenzhen with 13 missing

A construction site alongside a high-speed railway line in China’s southern city of Shenzhen collapsed on December 4, 2024, leaving 13 workers missing. The ground gave way at around 11pm on a section of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen railway in Baoan district’s Hangcheng Street area. Authorities have classified it as a "major incident", defined as one resulting in fatalities of 10 to 30 people.
