Taiwan arms fair draws record number of dealers amid defence spending spree

Taiwan’s largest arms fair, the Taipei Aerospace and Defence Technology Exhibition, opened on September 18, 2025, featuring 490 exhibitors, nearly double the number seen at the previous event in 2023. The surge was seen as a reflection of increased Taiwanese government defence spending, the island’s aim to expand military cooperation and its goal of spending 5 per cent of its GDP on defence by 2030.
