Fire engulfs 1,500-year-old temple in China’s eastern Jiangsu province

Social media footage of a fire engulfing a 1,500-year-old temple in China’s eastern Jiangsu province has gone viral on the Chinese social media Douyin. Local authorities said the fire, which broke out on November 12, 2025, has since been extinguished and there were no casualties.
