Beijing lowers coronavirus emergency level after two weeks with no new infections

With no new Covid-19 cases recorded for two weeks in the Chinese capital,  Beijing authorities lowered the city’s coronavirus emergency status from Level 2 to Level 3 on July 20, 2020.  While the eased alert level was a relief for many residents, most remained cautious after enduring a second wave of infections.
