Leadership of Hong Kong’s Democratic Party backs motion to dissolve

Hong Kong’s Democratic Party will ask its members whether the group should dissolve.
The once-powerful opposition party announced on February 20, 2025, that its 400 members will vote on the group’s fate. Party chairman Lo Kin-hei said party leaders made their decision after assessing the city’s political environment.
