Confined space, a lack of legroom, stress-provoking boarding procedures and airlines’ cost-saving measures are a recipe for conflicts among air passengers, observers say, following a number of heated disputes aboard Hong Kong flights. Experts add that social media has fuelled a “copycat effect” in which people imitate disruptive behaviour and aggressive responses they have seen online.
