Hong Kong International Airport reopens upgraded Terminal 2

Travellers praised the design of the expanded airport terminal while others called for better signage.

More than 4,000 passengers are expected to use the expanded second terminal at Hong Kong International Airport, which reopened on May 27, 2026. Terminal 2 is scheduled to handle 33 flights on its first day of operation. Hong Kong Airlines was the first carrier to use the upgraded terminal. Airport Authority officials said operations so far have been smooth. Many travellers praised the terminal’s design, but some called for better signage at the facility.
