Hong Kong’s largest sunflower garden faces closure amid Northern Metropolis plan
Land resumption notices have been served to clear half of the 300,000 sq metre Shun Sum Yuen Farm in San Tin by the end of the year.
Visitors rushed to Hong Kong’s largest sunflower garden in Yuen Long on Sunday as it faces possible closure under the Northern Metropolis development plan. Farmer Leung Yat-shun says land resumption notices have been posted, but no clear eviction timeline has been given. The site is expected to make way for the Northern Link railway connecting to Shenzhen. While preparing a final sunflower bloom for visitors, Leung is also searching for new land to continue his work.
