Hong Kong police said on Monday they have arrested 125 people in a crackdown on a triad-linked syndicate that allegedly monopolised the lunchbox business at construction sites in East Kowloon. Authorities say the group used violence, extortion and arson to drive out competitors. The syndicate allegedly sold about 800 lunchboxes daily, each priced at HK$50 (US$6.4), with an annual turnover of nearly HK$12 million (US$1.5 million).
