Soldiers find 'massacre' in Israeli village as air strikes continue to pummel Gaza

Israeli soldiers and rescuers have been recovering bodies and searching for survivors at the Kfar Aza kibbutz, after the village was attacked by Palestinian Hamas militants. On October 10, 2023, troops found more than a hundred bodies amid the ruins of burnt-out houses, torched cars and piles of other wreckage. On the same day, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip was hit by some of the fiercest air strikes mounted by Israel in the 75-year history of its conflict with Palestinians. Entire districts were pounded to dust despite threats from Hamas militants to execute Israeli hostages.
