Baidu wins permits to offer fully driverless robotaxi service in Beijing

Chinese search and AI giant Baidu has won permits to offer a fully driverless robotaxi service in Beijing’s Yizhuang district. The vehicles do not require human staff to be seated in the front to monitor their movements, marking a major step forward in China’s effort to commercialise driverless technology.
