‘No more master tailors left in Hong Kong’: Handmade tailor shop announces closure

Benny Woo has been in the tailoring business for over 60 years, serving big name clients including tycoon Li Ka-shing.

Born into a tailoring family, Benny Woo started working as an apprentice under his father and gradually rose through the ranks to become head tailor for international brands including Swank, Dunhill and Prada. In a career spanning more than 60 years, Woo has crafted suits for the likes of Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing and superstar Andy Lau. Woo founded his own tailor shop, Benny Woo Sartorial, in 2018. However, the once-flourishing industry is now facing major challenges. Woo has announced he will close the shop on November 30, 2025.
