Hongkongers rush to snap up HK$30 film tickets ahead of April 25 Cinema Day

Hongkongers flocked to theatres on April 22, 2026, to snap up HK$30 (US$3.8) tickets for Cinema Day, which will be held three days later on April 25. Cinema-goers are being offered discounted tickets at any of the city’s 53 theatres. Sales opened at noon, with customers queuing up from as early as 10.30am to secure their seats. The city’s annual Cinema Day is organised by the Hong Kong Theatres Association.
