India launches home-grown lunar lander Chandrayaan-3, in bid to be fourth country to reach the moon

India launched its unmanned spacecraft, the Chandrayaan-3, on July 14, 2023, to land on the moon. A live feed showed a successful launch in what is India’s second attempt to become the fourth country to land on the moon. The rocket lifted off from Sriharikota in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh where a cheering crowd gathered.
