A bush fire hit South Africa’s historic University of Cape Town on April 18, 2021. The blaze spread quickly up the slopes of Table Mountain after starting on Devil’s Peak, near a memorial to politician Cecil Rhodes. Runaway flames set several campus buildings ablaze, forcing hundreds of students to evacuate.
