Marvel’s first Asian superhero film Shang-Chi premieres in Hollywood

The stars of Marvel’s Asian superhero film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings walked the red carpet in Los Angeles on August 16, 2021, for the Hollywood production’s world premiere. Lead actor Simu Liu, Awkwafina and others discussed the film’s significance at a time of rising hate crimes against Asian-Americans in the US, amid the Covid-19 pandemic and Asian representation in the US film industry.
