Colombia's traditional amateur bullfighting festival raises animal welfare concerns

Colombia’s traditional bullfighting festival, also known as The Corraleja, is a hair-raising affair that takes place every year in Colombia. Unlike Spanish bullfights, the bulls are not killed as part of the spectacle and the amateur festival also welcomes the general public to participate. However, some animal-rights campaigners are seeking to ban the event over concerns about the animals’ welfare.
