At least 2,000 people are feared dead after catastrophic floods swept northeastern Libya on September 10, 2023. Authorities said thousands more were missing in the city of Derna. The storm Daniel swept over the Mediterranean, swamping roads and destroying buildings in Derna and Libya's second city of Benghazi.
