US, Japan hail upgraded ties, unveil raft of bilateral deals following Biden-Kishida summit

US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida conveyed the strong ties binding their two nations by announcing a raft of agreements spanning defence, space, culture, diplomacy and research on April 10, 2024. The two leaders outlined in broad terms some 70 agreements, including several that respond to rising tensions with China and challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
