US President Donald Trump ordered air strikes on Houthi-held areas in Yemen on March 16, 2025. The American president has promised to use “overwhelming lethal force” until the rebels cease maritime attacks in the Red Sea. The death toll from the strikes has risen to 53, according to a spokesman for the Houthi-run health ministry. The US also issued a warning to Iran against backing the group.
