US President Donald Trump said things were “going very well” the day after his “Liberation Day” tariff blitz jolted global markets. On April 2, 2025, Trump’s administration imposed a minimum 10 per cent tariff on imports from much of the world. Some Asian business owners expressed anxiety over the action, while others said they saw opportunities to gain a larger market share.
