UK Prime Minister Starmer resigns

Keir Starmer has announced his resignation as prime minister of the United Kingdom. Starmer will also step down as the leader of the UK’s Labour Party. He called his time as prime minister the “proudest moment” of his life, but explained that he was not in a position to lead Labour into the next election.
