US launches more Iran strikes, hits oil tanker trying to break Hormuz blockade

The US military said on Wednesday that it had completed its latest wave of strikes on Iran. It launched two waves of attacks on Iran’s coastal defences and missile sites after having reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports. The latest escalation comes days after a fragile truce collapsed, raising the spectre of a return to full-scale war. Iran has also once again threatened to shut off more regional energy exports.
