A collector has offered Malaysia’s growing trading-card community a chance to own a piece of Pokemon “history,” putting part of his rare trove up for sale for 1.87 million ringgit (US$441,993) with an alternative deal: he is willing to trade it for a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S plus additional cash.

Damiral Imran listed his collection on social media, where he described it as “history, rarity and legacy in one vault”.

According to screenshots from Shiny, a global card-valuation tracker, Damiral’s full stockpile is worth about 2 million ringgit.

Damiral, who said he has already received offers as high as 1.68 million ringgit, also dangled a 50,000 ringgit commission to anyone who could help him find a buyer.

He added that whoever closes the deal would receive a One Piece card – based on Japan’s long-running pirate-themed anime and manga franchise – worth more than 50,000 ringgit for free.

When asked by a social media user how much he spent on the collection, Damiral said it was around 1.62 million ringgit.

Photographs uploaded with his post show rows of Pokemon cards – expertly authenticated and rated for condition by the US-based Professional Sports Authenticator – neatly arranged on tables, each sealed in plastic cases.
