First planeload of Hongkongers stranded in Middle East back home safely
Insider says government exploring ways to bring others back sooner, as expert urges prioritising work with airlines to secure seats and keep taxpayer costs down

That could mean prioritising work with airlines to secure seats for Hongkongers and keep taxpayer costs down, an aviation expert said amid calls from stranded residents for chartered flights.
According to the Dubai Airports website, Emirates flight EK380 departed at 10.56am local time. The aircraft arrived in Hong Kong at 9.50pm.
Wing On Travel, a Hong Kong travel agency, said 12 customers and a tour guide were among those who boarded the aircraft on their scheduled return flight.
It was the first flight back to Hong Kong, two days after Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport resumed limited operations of “a small number of flights” on Monday evening.
