Chikungunya fever
Chikungunya fever is a mosquito-transmitted viral infection. Primary symptoms are fever and joint pain, but other symptoms can include headaches, muscle aches, joint swelling and rashes. Most symptoms clear up in a week, but the joint aches may last for months or years. The very young and elderly are most at risk from the illness.
