Labubu is the lead figure in a line of toys created by Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong-born illustrator and artist, and part of his The Monsters series. The Monsters toy range, which largely comprises plush figures and hard plastic figurines depicting the sharp-toothed, playful Labubu, launched in 2015 and by 2025 it had become a global phenomenon, with rare items selling for as much as US$170,000 at auction.
