Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (586) - THRIVING YOUTH 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 3 CIRCUIT DUFFY (J501) M F Poon After the event, M F Poon reported that with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time his mount was under pressure throughout the race before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SECOND TO NONE (H319) L Hewitson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 POSITIVE SMILE (J467) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 LESLIE (E471) K Teetan Made contact with the running rail near the 900 Metres when racing tight inside ACE.
Horse No 8 WITH A SMILE (K136) Z Purton The tongue tie was replaced in the Parade Ring.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ACE (K307) J Orman Jumped only fairly.
After the event, J Orman stated that his mount raced greenly throughout the race and near the 900 Metres shifted in and away from C YEAH and made contact with LESLIE and then over-reacted to that contact.
As a result, ACE shifted out and was checked when awkwardly placed close to the heels of C YEAH which shifted in slightly.
Horse No 10 MAX QUE (J514) L Ferraris Briefly held up near the 400 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 DRALA (J376) A Atzeni As the start was effected reared simultaneously and as a result lost ground on jumping.
The barrier manners of DRALA were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DRALA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
Horse No 14 GLUCK RACER (E157) A Hamelin From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 900 Metres was steadied when racing tight between POSITIVE SMILE and ACROSS DA UNIVERSE, both of which shifted ground slightly.
A short distance later, GLUCK RACER was checked to avoid ACE when that runner gave ground.

With a Smile settled handy and wide without cover from gate 12 before rushing to the lead 250m out and holding off Max Que for a first win at his fourth start. He appreciated the step up to 1,400m. Max Que ran on nicely to make it close on the wire after a rails run from midfield. He's produced mixed form in five starts but has found the line well for seconds in two of his past three starts. Smashed late in betting, Circuit Mighty stuck on well for third after working hard to track the leader from gate 14. It was his best effort from eight starts this term. Veteran Leslie ran on well for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. He does appear from his past two starts to be close to finding a rating bottom. Across Da Universe ran on well with one wider out for fifth after a wide trip travelling three from the rear. It was an encouraging performance down in grade with the claim well utilised. Zetta Force only plodded with every chance after a prominent run one off with cover as one of the favourites. He couldn't back up a near win last start.
