Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (647) - COX'S HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when endeavouring to obtain a narrow run between BLUE BARON and MIGHTY STEED.
In this incident SPIRIT OF PEACE made contact with MIGHTY STEED.
Over the final 100 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider B Avdulla having to correct his mount on a number of occasions.
Horse No 2 WONDERSTAR (J531) H T Mo After the event H T Mo reported that after obtaining the lead in the early stages his mount raced too keenly which resulted in it running inside of standard time despite his efforts to restrain the horse and to set a more sustainable pace.
Horse No 3 MIGHTY STEED (J384) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.
Near the 300 Metres was bumped by SPIRIT OF PEACE and became unbalanced.
Horse No 4 MAX QUE (J514) H Bowman When questioned regarding his riding from the 600 Metres and if there was an opportunity to follow FIGHT TIME into the event, H Bowman stated that his mount travelled well in a handy position behind and to the inside of FIGHT TIME.
He said leaving the 600 Metres he contemplated shifting out to follow FIGHT TIME into the race, however, when he became concerned that FIGHT TIME was under pressure, he elected not to do so as he also would have been required to come back slightly to provide himself with comfortable racing room to follow FIGHT TIME.
He added after committing to the inside of FIGHT TIME near the 550 Metres, that runner then unexpectedly improved to the outside of PEARL OF PANG'S which then resulted in MAX QUE having to be checked near the 350 Metres when disappointed for clear running between FIGHT TIME and PEARL OF PANG'S.
After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Bowman were reasonable in the circumstances.

Horse No 5 DAZZLING FIT (K298) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 LUCKY COMBINATION (J512) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event C L Chau reported that his mount settled back in the field and with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time LUCKY COMBINATION did not travel well and in the Home Straight failed to run on when placed under pressure.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of LUCKY COMBINATION, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY COMBINATION will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 LESLIE (E471) K Teetan On jumping became unbalanced when crowded between DAZZLING FIT and BLUE BARON.
Horse No 8 HANDSOME BOMB (H402) A Atzeni A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 BLUE BARON (J448) K C Leung On jumping was crowded by HANDSOME BOMB which shifted out.
Horse No 11 AMAZING RUN (H401) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when endeavouring to improve into a narrow run between BLUE BARON which lay in and MAX QUE which shifted out.
Horse No 12 QUICK QUICK WIN (K102) E C W Wong After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that after being slow to begin his mount did not travel well throughout the event.
He added on the Home Turn his mount became unbalanced and when he was concerned there was something amiss he eased it down from the event near the 300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of QUICK QUICK WIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, QUICK QUICK WIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 13 PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) M F Poon Noted to have sustained speedy cuts to both hind legs.

Favourite Dazzling Fit travelled five back and one off the fence before hitting the lead 100m out and drawing clear for a maiden success at his third start. Max Que ran on nicely for second after a rails run from midfield. He's building towards a win with seconds in three of his past four starts. Sensationally-punted Fight Time just got up for third after a rails run from better than midfield. He can't string together two good runs, but he has now placed in four of nine starts this term. Outsider Bling Bling Genius lost a placing late after chasing the speed one off from gate 14. It was clearly his best run from four starts. Wonderstar held on for fifth after travelling loose-on-the-lead at quick sectionals from gate eight. It was a better effort following a downgrade. Mighty Steed ran on late without menacing with one wider out after making his run three from the rear. Spirit Of Peace ran on without threatening after making his run third last from gate 12.
